- Making the best us of our major natural farming resource (pasture – which covers 60% of UK farmland)
- Allowing ruminants to live in their natural environment, with attendant benefits to their health and welfare
- Producing meat and dairy products that have identifiable benefits in terms of human health and nutrition
- Decoupling production from a reliance upon fossil fuels (in particular diesel and nitrogenous fertilisers)
- Decoupling production from a reliance on soybean and imported grain
- More stable farming systems because pasture is not a commodity and not subject to price fluctuations
- Recognising the full value of Pasture-Fed produce through local and regional processing where diversity is allowed to flourish
- Animals fed on a natural diet means that they working within their natural capacity for production which brings considerable benefits in terms of health, wellbeing and longevity
