Rush Farm

Rush Farm

Rush Farm is set in the valley of the Bow Brook with blue Lias soils as the main under lay. The farm was converted to organic standards in 2008 and is certified as such by the Soil Association. More unusually we are additionally a biodynamic farm and so certified by Demeter. We hold Red Tractor Assurance for both our meat and cereal production and our herd of Traditional English Hereford cattle holds level 2 health status. In addition to our cattle we have some 180 breeding ewes, predominately pedigree Lleyn and two of our rams are certified pedigree Lleyn.

We are signed up to OELS/HLS and our agreement runs until 2018. Our relationship with Natural England has been a most positive feature of our activities. We have a nine year rotation in place with any cereal sown being sold off the farm.

Our contacts with the Worcestershire Wild Life Conservation Society are strong and the farm is widely recognised as being rich in wildlife of all kinds.

Being a biodynamic farm we are committed to the notion of self-contained and self sufficient operation and hence easily fit into the pasture-fed approach albeit on an organic basis.

Our meat is largely sold locally or to other pasture-fed outlets with any excess going into the general organic market.

For those who wish to buy from us we offer a postal delivery for fresh meat while frozen meat needs to be collected from the farm house. Availability of meat moves with the seasons but lamb is normally available between August to December and beef at least twice a year.

Orders can be made either by post, telephone or email - rushfarm@elysia.uk.com.

Telephone numbers are 01386 792 336 or 01386 791 047 but post or email is more reliable!
